Welcome to a new tenant Chairperson of Community Voice
In April, our main tenant group, Community Voice, elected Rhiannon Jeans as the new Chairperson for the coming year.
Rhiannon has been a tenant for nearly three years and is a part of several groups, including Tenant Inspectors and the Complaints Panel.
She said: “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to be the Chairperson of such a passionate, influential and forward-thinking group of residents on Community Voice.
“As a group, we’re committed to representing the voice of all residents in ensuring the homes that we live in, the communities that we’re a part of and the services that we receive are the best that they can be.
“We’re always looking for new people to join the group, and there are also other opportunities for you to have a say and make a positive difference.”
Community Voice meet monthly to discuss and help to influence customer-facing issues. Members on the group include a mixture of residents from different areas, they receive the latest Ongo updates, can ask staff questions and make suggestions for future improvements.
They also receive relevant training, hold sessions on specific subjects, and they have the opportunity to attend webinars and conferences to learn from other tenants and housing providers.
Tami Reevell was re-elected as the Community Voice Vice-Chairperson. She added: “I’ve been on the group since 2022, and it’s helped me to not only influence improvements to a range of areas but to also grow as a person.
“It’s enhanced my knowledge of Ongo, given me greater confidence with people and it’s also helped my wellbeing over recent years. Though I have a busy home life, I’m grateful that I’m still able to provide feedback and share my experiences to improve the experience for all residents.
“Everyone on the group has been really friendly and supportive throughout my time, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Community Voice grows even further in the future.”
We want to thank Jill Milner, who is the outgoing tenant Chairperson, for all of her hard work, commitment and dedication throughout her time in the role.
She commented: “I loved every moment of being the Chairperson, but I’m delighted to still be a part of the group and helping to shape the present and future alongside other residents. I know Rhiannon and Tami will be fantastic in their roles.”
