Neighbourhood Pride events, organised by us, will take place across North Lincolnshire this year.

The Caretaking and Customer Engagement Teams will be heading to Barton, Scunthorpe, Brigg and South Killingholme to deliver a series of activities to encourage residents to take pride in their communities.

One of the main aims of the events is to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and disposing of waste correctly. Some areas will also see litter picks, estate inspections and general clean-ups, as part of the organisation’s wider bid to #OngoGoGreen.

Here is a list of the upcoming events:

  • Overton Court, Barton (10 April 10am – 3.00pm)
  • The Community Centre, South Killingholme (13 April 11.30am – 2.00pm)
  • Lincoln Court, Scunthorpe (26 April 1.30pm – 3.30pm)

Steve Gilmour, Caretaking Team Leader said: “Working with the Customer Engagement Team, Neighbourhood Pride events provide our Caretakers with the chance to educate residents about the importance of recycling and disposing of waste correctly in a fun yet educational way.

“We are informed on a daily basis from North Lincolnshire Council as to areas which they have been unable to make a bin collection from due to problems with excess waste or waste being put in to the wrong bins.

“Our Caretakers are asked to remove excess waste and decontaminate bins that have had the wrong type of waste disposed within them. This adds costs to the service in both time and money that could be spent elsewhere in improving the area you live.”

Local residents are invited to come along and take part in the activities on offer, with exceptions to Victoria House, Lincoln Gardens, and Ancholme Gardens, which will be for scheme residents only.

Our Caretakers will be renovating the Padstow Walk area of Westcliff as part of the events too.
