On Thursday 21 December, the Westcliff Christmas light switch on will take place at The Precinct.

The event, organised by us, the North Lincolnshire Council Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Humberside Police will take place between 4-7pm.

At the event there will be the big light switch on, along with the chance to meet Father Christmas, choir singing for everyone to get involved in, free presents for each child, a kids disco and a free raffle with some great prizes on offer.

Cheryl Wilson, Housing Officer here at Ongo, said: “We’ve been spending a lot of time working with people living in Westcliff over the last 18 months, and we wanted to host a festive event to say thank you for their support and cooperation.

“We’ve noticed a real improvement in the area, and this event will be a nice way to mark the end of 2017.”

Cllr Richard Hannigan, cabinet member for Safer Neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Our Safer Neighbourhoods Team works closely with the Westcliff community and provides a range of support. The light switch on event is a great way of celebrating all that has been achieved this year and all there is to come.

The Arc is really starting to take shape, which will provide a hub for residents where a range of services will be available. 2018 is set to be an exciting year for Westcliff.”

Inspector Tim Harvey, Humberside Police, said: “The Westcliff Hub has been a focal point for the local community for the past 18 months and Humberside Police is extremely grateful to Safer Neighbourhoods and Ongo for their commitment and hard work.

Officers will be present for the light switch on to join in the fun ad continue our engagement with local residents of all ages.  We look forward to a good attendance and a successful event in keeping with the fantastic community spirit.”
