We've been ranked top 10 company to work for

We’ve had a significant leap in the official Best Companies league tables, now proudly positioned as the 73rd best large company to work for in the UK and top ten in the housing sector.

In March 2024, we were rated as a ‘two-star organisation’, marking its dedication to colleague engagement and creating a great organisation to be part of.

The latest league tables reveal our impressive progress across various categories:

  • UK: Jumped from 138th to 73rd best large company to work for in the UK.
  • Yorkshire & Humber: Advanced from 61st to 31st best company to work for in the region.
  • Housing Sector: Climbed from 16th to 10th best housing association to work for in the UK.

Our survey revealed that over 40% of colleagues have worked here for over five years, showcasing our ability to retain talent. At least 40% of senior managers are women, highlighting our commitment to gender equality, diversity and inclusion.

With 453 colleagues, we foster a culture where 78% agree that the organisation is run on strong values and principles, and an impressive 92% believe they can make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation.

A huge 90% agree that we encourage and supports charitable activities, reinforcing its role as a socially responsible employer, proving our promise that everything we do is given back to local communities.

Steve Hepworth, said: “We really believe that having happy, motivated and engaged people means we will be able to offer the best possible services to our tenants and customers.

“We actively encourage our colleagues to have a voice and get involved in all aspects of the business; whether that is helping to shape our future direction, job shadowing to build cross team relationships or consultation through surveys and focus groups to make improvements to our services and the way we do things.

“Investing in our colleagues is so important to us. From our aspiring managers and leaders, supporting apprentices at the beginning of their career, encouraging all our colleagues to take part in coaching and training – we know the value of continuous development.

“And finally, getting feedback and having conversations is key for us. That could be hearing what we do well as a business to help our colleagues be the best they can be or learning about what we could do better to improve as an employer and organisation.”
