We’ve been shortlisted for a national award for our approach in tackling anti-social behaviour.

Shortlisted in the category of ‘Best Project’ in the Resolve ASB Awards, we will find out at the award ceremony taking place in Solihull on 14 November. We’re up against Castle Vale Community Housing and Trivallis.

The award is based around the work that us and North Lincolnshire Council’s Safer Neighbourhoods team have been doing over the last 18 months in Westcliff, Scunthorpe along with the support of Humberside Police.

The Hub is a venue right in the heart of Westcliff in Scunthorpe which is open for the whole community to use. There are drop in sessions with us, North Lincolnshire Council and Humberside Police, plus lots of activities and events for people of all ages.

The aim of The Hub is to give people a place they feel safe and happy to visit for advice and guidance on a whole range of topics, in the hope that this will reduce the level of anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder in the area.

Paul Grimley, Housing Team Leader, said: “We entered the awards because we believe The Hub has made a real difference to the whole Westcliff community, and everyone involved has put so much time and effort in to make it a success. It has been able to achieve a great deal in a relative short period of time and despite only having a very small budget to work with”

“Just to be shortlisted is a huge achievement for the whole team, and it has been fantastic to create an opportunity to showcase the hard work by the staff running the hub and tenants that have been coming along to our events over the last 18 months.”
