We’ve been shortlisted for the Excellence in Employment, Skills and Training award in the Tpas northern region awards.

The Tpas awards recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes within local communities for the work they do to improve where they live. Tpas is England’s leading tenant engagement organisation, bringing landlords, tenants and contractors together to find solutions to improve services, save money and bring lasting change to communities.

The awards are in their 12th year and are highly recognised and regarded within the social housing sector.

We have been shortlisted for the award based on our Ongo Journey to Work, which supports local people into employment, training or volunteering opportunities. It supports people to become work ready regardless of the barriers they are facing. This can include one to one mentoring and life coaching, providing training courses and supporting clients through qualifications and preparing CV’s and offering interview support.

Jan Williams, Head of Community Investment, said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. It’s great to have been recognised for the hard work that our teams have put in over the last 12 months.

“We’re up against some really brilliant organisations and we’d like to wish everyone the best of luck at the awards. Tpas is such a well respected organisation within the housing sector, so to have been shortlisted is a huge achievement.”

The awards take place on Friday 29 March at the Principal Hotel in Manchester, and will see housing associations and local authorities up for 13 different awards. The awards highlight the great work carried out within the housing sector, and the valuable contributions that social housing tenants make to the communities in which they live.
