We’ve raised more than £3,000 for Lindsey Lodge
A team of 48 colleagues joined hundreds of people from across the region to take part in Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare’s annual Glow Walk, raising more than £3,000 for the local charity.
Lindsey Lodge provides vital care and support for adults living with life-limiting illnesses and is a cause that’s close to the hearts of many of our colleagues. It’s an organisation we’ve proudly supported for many years through fundraising, volunteering and community events.
The Glow Walk brought people together for an evening filled with music, colourful outfits and plenty of community spirit, with participants taking on either the 5 or 10-mile route. Many walkers also chose to take part in memory of loved ones, making the event even more meaningful.
More than 1,000 people signed up for this year’s walk, making it one of Lindsey Lodge’s biggest fundraising events and helping to raise vital funds that will support local people and their families when they need it most.
This year’s walk held special significance for Team Ongo, as colleagues took part in memory of former colleague Jo-Ann Locking. Jo-Ann was a passionate supporter of Lindsey Lodge and played a key role in organising and championing the Glow Walk each year, making the event a cause that was close to her heart.
Tom Moody, Deputy Chief Executive at Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare said, “On behalf of everyone at Lindsey Lodge, I’d like to thank Team Ongo for your fantastic support. Seeing so many colleagues taking part and raising money for local hospice care means so much to us.
“We’ve built a strong relationship with Ongo over the years and we’re incredibly grateful for the continued support. Every donation helps us provide essential care and develop our services to meet the needs of our community now and in the future. Thank you to everyone who walked, donated or cheered us on.”
Rebecca Emmerson, People and Culture Assistant at Ongo and organiser of the event said, “This year’s Glow Walk was especially meaningful for us as we walked in memory of our much-loved colleague, Jo-Ann Locking. Jo-Ann was always at the heart of organising the event and encouraging colleagues to get involved, and we really missed her this year.
“Many of us have wonderful memories of taking part in the Glow Walk with Jo-Ann, so it felt only right to honour her memory while supporting a cause that meant so much to her. To raise more than £3,000 is an incredible achievement, and I’m so proud of everyone who took part, donated or supported us.
“Jo had a way of making everyone feel cared for and valued, and I think the incredible turnout and amount raised in her memory shows just how much she meant to people. What a wonderful tribute to a very special person.”
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated or supported the event. Together, we’ve helped make a real difference for Lindsey Lodge and the people they care for.
