We’ve signed ASB help pledge to strengthen support for victims of ASB

We’ve signed up to the ASB Help Pledge, strengthening our commitment to supporting people affected by anti‑social behaviour and making sure the way we work with partners is as effective as it can be.

For us, this pledge is about keeping things simple, consistent and genuinely focused on the person experiencing ASB. When someone is dealing with behaviour that’s making them feel unsafe or uncomfortable, they deserve to be listened to, taken seriously, and supported in a way that actually leads to change.

It also builds on the work we already do every day – from early intervention and clear reporting routes, to working closely with Humberside Police and other partners to make sure responses are joined‑up. We know ASB can have a huge impact on someone’s wellbeing and their ability to feel at home, so improving how we respond is something we take seriously.

What we’re committing to

  • Promoting awareness of the ASB Case Review so people know when it’s right for them
  • Following legislation and best practice so standards stay high
  • Making the process accessible and easy to understand
  • Reviewing and improving how we deliver ASB case reviews
  • Strengthening partnership working so responses are coordinated and effective
  • Empowering victims by making sure they’re heard and supported throughout

Signing the pledge is another step in our wider work to build safer, more confident communities. It supports everything we already put in place, including:

  • Clear reporting routes so people know exactly how to get help
  • Early intervention to stop issues escalating
  • Support for victims including wellbeing referrals, safety planning and regular updates
  • Working with perpetrators to challenge behaviour and encourage positive change
  • Community‑based solutions that help rebuild trust and strengthen neighbourhoods

At the heart of all this is a simple aim: making sure people feel safe where they live, and know they can come to us when something isn’t right.
