Our Next Level Team has successfully boosted employment opportunities for 14 staff members, at Scunthorpe’s Warley House care home.

After signing up to our Next Level Project, the group were enrolled onto First Aid and Food Safety courses, to increase their skills and help them develop within their current roles.

Maryanne Fitzgerald, Next Level Project Manager commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with the individuals from Warley House. We have built a great working relationship and will continue to support them through mentoring and gaining qualifications, so that they can develop and progress in their careers.

“Our project really does benefit everyone involved. As a result, Warley House now have a better qualified workforce, and those members of staff have more opportunities.”

Our Next Level Project, which is part funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), works with people already in employment to improve skills and move up in their career. Since launching in 2017, the team has worked with 600 people, with 213 accessing training, 90 improving their work status and 44 improving in their basic skills in English.

When asked about her experience with the Next Level Team, Debbie Powell, Warley House Care Home Manager said: “It was brilliant fun, we had a really good laugh, but it was thorough. The sign up process was easy, and the English testing and support was really good too.

“We were so impressed, and I’ve already recommended the project to other businesses.”
