Ashtree Close updates

We've recently completed site investigations at Ashtree Close, Belton to look at the potential for redevelopment of land, and are now at the public consultation stage, so would love to hear what your views.

Consultation will close on Monday 24 May 2021, so to take a look at the plans and submit your feedback, please click here.

This page is where we will publish all updates on the scheme, so please keep checking back. For more information, take a look at our Q&As below:

  • Why are you looking at redeveloping the area?

Over the years lots of homes have become empty at Ashtree Close, and people are leaving them at a higher rate than our average. Our aim is to create a more stale and sustainable community for the future.

  • What will the redevelopment look like?

Over recent years we've considered a number of options to regenerate the properties but were found to not be feasible. With this in mind we are now looking at potentially demolishing the current flats and building new houses and bungalows.

The proposed scheme includes 24 properties in total, which are to be made up of one and two-bedroom bungalows and two and three-bedroom houses, all for affordable rent.

  • I live in the area, how will I be communicated with and what does this mean for me and my home?

Although we are in the early stages, we have been in touch with all tenants this may affect, and will continue to update them throughout. This will be through letters, telephone calls and face to face.

The most important thing for us is to make sure that they are kept up to date, and understand the whole process.

  • What are the timescales and key dates?

Site investigations were carried out in March and results are back. Consultation has also now been carried out and we are continuing to work with all affected tenants, explaining the process and impact on them and their homes.

We are now working on pulling together all of the feedback from our consultation to get a final design in place. We will then be submitted to the Local Authority for planning permission. This take as long as six months to obtain.

  • I have more questions, who can I speak to?

If you have any questions about the redevelopment of Ashtree Close, please give us a call.

As soon as we have more information, we will be in touch directly with those tenants in the area.
