Grass cutting
This page includes an update on our grass cutting service.
UPDATE 15/06/2026:
We’re pleased to confirm that, as of today, all previously overdue sites have now been completed. Thank you for your patience while we worked to bring this service back on track.
We know how important well-maintained neighbourhoods are, and we remain committed to making sure standards are consistently met going forward.
__
We’ve heard from many of you about the standard of grass cutting and the upkeep of the areas where you live and we want to be clear: we know this hasn’t been good enough, and we’re sorry.
We want our neighbourhoods to be well maintained places you can feel proud to live in, and places we’re proud to work in. Right now, we know in some areas we’ve fallen short of that.
We’re responsible for maintaining around 240 communal sites. In some locations, grounds are managed by the local authority, so not every space you see will be ours, but where it is our responsibility, we know you expect these to be well maintained, and rightly so.
It’s clear how much you care, and we’re making it a priority. We now have a recovery plan in place and are working to get things back on track by Monday 15 June.
We also recognise that we need to be clearer in how we communicate on this service
To explain, the service charge you pay now is for last year, not the current year. If, by the end of this year, we have not delivered the agreed level of service (16 grass cuts between April and October), you will not be charged for work you haven’t received. However, we are confident this will be caught up and delivered.
To make sure this doesn’t happen again we’re improving how we use data and your feedback so we can spot issues earlier and act faster and we’re introducing clearer penalties for contractors who don’t deliver the service expected.
We know this matters. You’ve told us, and we’re listening. Despite the setbacks, we are committed to getting this right and making sure your neighbourhoods are looked after properly.
Thank you for your honesty and patience while we put things right.
