We have a legal duty to service and maintain any lifts within our buildings provided for the transport of people. These are regularly serviced to ensure your safety, improve their lifespan and to try and reduce unplanned downtime. Lift repairs are costly, and it can take time to source the required replacement parts.
How can you help?
- Please do not overload the lifts with belongings.
- Please do not prop or hold the lift doors open with any items.
- Please do not misuse or cause damage to the lifts.
What should you do if you become stuck inside
a lift carriage?
If you are in a passenger lift, please press the emergency button which connects to our lift contractor 24-hours a day. They will then ask for some brief details like your location and then dispatch an engineer to safely release you from the lift.
What happens in the event of a Fire Alarm?
If the lift in your building is linked to the Fire Alarm then if this is activated the lift will return to the ground floor and will not be available for use whilst the alarm is activated.
