We have supported the “Share the Roads” campaign

We have worked with Humberside Fire and Rescue and Safer Roads Humber to support their ‘Share the Roads’ campaign, which aims to prevent accidents and save lives.

This vital road safety initiative, which ran during the summer, was spearheaded by the dedicated Scunthorpe Fire Cadets. It focuses on educating the public about the importance of maintaining correct distances on the road and respecting all road users.

By fostering a culture of mutual respect and awareness, the campaign seeks to reduce reckless driving and prevent unnecessary fatalities.

As a key supporter of this we played a significant role in amplifying the campaign’s reach. Involvement included attending the launch event and branding vans with stickers, ensuring widespread visibility across the region.

“We are thrilled to support the ‘Share the Roads’ campaign,” said Steve Gilmour, Neighbourhood Services Supervisor. “By spreading this crucial message, we hope to encourage all road users to think twice about their actions and contribute to a safer environment for everyone.”

The campaign’s benefits extend to all pedestrians and road users, whether they are cyclists, moped riders, horse riders, or road runners.

Humberside Fire and Rescue and Safer Roads Humber are dedicated to protecting the community through fire safety education, promoting road safety, emergency response, and community initiatives. Both have expressed their gratitude to all those who took part in the campaign.

Together, we can work together to “Share the Roads” and make a significant difference in protecting lives and ensuring safer roads for all.
