Volunteer counselling placements

Are you working towards a counselling qualification and looking to gain practical experience in a supportive environment? Read on!

Consider a placement with us.

If you’re working towards a counselling qualification and are looking to gain practical experience, you could join Ongo counsellors already supporting local people to improve their mental health through counselling.

Working with Ongo is a great opportunity to work closely and be mentored by qualified counsellors registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

You will enhance your practitioner skills and work with clients in the local community presenting with mental health conditions and challenging circumstances. You will be exposed to how an organisation manages external contracts, caseloads, safeguarding responsibilities, record keeping and organisational responsibilities.

Alongside mentorship, you will have access to valuable resources and spaces to deliver a high-quality service, feeling supported and nurtured every step of the way.

Supervision is now offered as part of the placement package with a qualified integrative supervisor. There is a small fee (concession rate for students) of £30.
