A new beginning

New tenants are settling into the 37 homes in the recent Station Road development within Scunthorpe town centre.

Gemma Ellis moved in at the end of 2021. She said: “When the development was being built, I was walking over the railway foot-bridge one day and said to my boyfriend that I would love to live there. However, I didn’t think I would actually be living in one of the homes soon afterwards.

“I needed a home close to the town centre so my three children were close to the schools they attend, and everything just worked out perfectly. As soon as I viewed it I knew it would be our forever home – it’s what we’ve always wanted. I particularly love the layout and the amount of space it allows us, and the kids love every aspect of it too.

“It’s the easiest application I’ve ever had to do, and the support before, during and after I moved in was simply amazing. I couldn’t have asked for any better help.

“When I was homeless less than six months ago, I never thought something as perfect as this would happen so quickly. We are now set up for life, and for that I will always be grateful.”
