We are hosting an event at Cafe Indie on Friday 14 July to celebrate National Employability Day.

The national day, set up by ERSA (Employment Related Services Association) aims to highlight the work that many organisations do across the UK to support individuals back into work.

Our Employment Support Team will be hosting an event aimed at secondary school students to give them practical advice and insights into various career paths which could be available to them once they leave education.

There will be staff from many different departments within Ongo on hand to talk to the students about the job they do, what qualifications they needed to get where they are today and answer any questions about their career.

Kerry Copson, Community Development Manager said: “Part of my role is to engage with young people in North Lincolnshire and make them aware of the many different career opportunities available to them, and how they can be successful in their chosen career path.

“This event aims to show students a variety of careers that they might not have considered before. There will be staff from lots of departments at Ongo including PR, Maintenance, Community Investment and Housing Management. They will all be on hand to have a chat with the students and answer any questions they might have.

“It’s great to be able to get involved with National Employability Day and to get young people thinking about their future potential.”

The second half of our Employability Day will be a drop in session at Cafe Indie from 1-3pm where the Employment Support Team will be on hand to offer guidance and advice for anyone looking at getting into employment or anyone that needs training to progress in their current career.
