A total of 38  properties have completed this month, giving families the chance to spend Christmas in their brand new home.

Keys across the region were handed over to new tenants, including 12 on East Common Lane, six on Rochdale Road, 13 on Ancholme Road, all in Scunthorpe, and a final seven on Maple Close at Kirton in Lindsey.

All homes were built to a modern standard with high quality finishes, and included a mix of two and three-bedroom houses and bungalows, along with a number of one-bedroom flats.

Bethany Clapham who moved into a new Ancholme Road home with her family commented: “We began looking for an Ongo home for more security, as we were in private rent. Then we were lucky enough to get this and we absolutely love it.

“Everything has been thought about, even little things like outside lights and USB ports. The best thing though is definitely the amount of storage, we have two children and pets so that’s important for us.

“Our decoration are already up and we’re really looking forward to this Christmas, and many more in our new home.”

Funding for these homes totals in the region of £9.3million, which has been provided by Ongo and Homes England.

Amy Schoenmaker, Development Project Manager said: “We are delighted to spread a little Christmas cheer and what better gift to receive then keys to a brand new home.

“Being there from the start of the build right to the end, and watching the excited faces of the families moving in is just brilliant.

“Despite the covid pandemic it has been our best year of building yet, with hundreds of more new homes to come in 2021. We can’t wait to do it all again.”

Various contractors were used across the four sites including Gelder, Minster, Moores Facilities Management and T.G Sowerby.
