Join us for World Suicide Prevention Day: a walk to change the narrative

On Wednesday 10 September, the community is invited to come together in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). A global day of awareness, reflection, and solidarity. Held annually, WSPD aims to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and support those affected by suicide, while reminding us all that suicide is preventable.

This year’s international theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide,” calls attention to the urgent need to address suicide as a serious public health issue. With over 700,000 lives lost each year, the theme encourages open conversations, compassionate support, and proactive prevention efforts.

To mark the occasion, we are hosting a community walk — a simple yet powerful act of unity and hope.
