Spotlight on our past and present apprentices

Following on with Apprenticeship week, we asked a group of past and present apprentices to describe their experience in just one sentence. Their words speak volumes about the value of apprenticeships, not only in building skills, but in building confidence, direction, and long‑term careers.

Adam Bacon said, The experience that I have gained as a result of this apprenticeship has been invaluable to me. I feel like I have developed myself professionally and academically more in these past 16 months than what I have in my entire professional career.”

Lucy Taurone said, “I enjoyed every minute of it! It gave me the experience and confidence I needed to continue in my career.”

Stacey Hammond said, “A positively challenging experience that will help you choose your career.”

And Lauren Robinson said, “Invaluable experience that led me to where I am today in my career.”

These voices remind us why apprenticeships matter. They open doors, build capability, and create opportunities for people to thrive. They also strengthen our organisation by bringing in fresh perspectives, new skills, and a passion for learning.

As we celebrate Apprenticeship week, we want to thank all our apprentices, and the managers, mentors, and teams who support them every day. Your commitment to learning and development helps us grow stronger together.
