Thanking our volunteers during Volunteers’ week

In celebration of Volunteers’ week, we wanted to thank all our incredible volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to support our community every single day.

To celebrate them, we asked them to share their journeys and experiences with us.

Alona Kotylo, a volunteer at Myos House said, “It’s been a really rewarding opportunity. I’ve really enjoyed spending time at the care home, especially engaging with the residents through simple activities like bingo. Bringing a bit of joy and interaction to their day has been incredibly meaningful, and I’ve learned that even the smallest moments, like a smile or a shared laugh, can make a big difference.

“This experience has also helped me grow personally, teaching me patience, compassion, and the true value of human connection.”

Philip Moore, who volunteers at Ironstone, said “My volunteering work is going well, and I am enjoying it so far. I am getting a lot out of it. I am feeling a lot more productive than before I started and feeling more relaxed.”

Their stories are just a glimpse into the positive impact our volunteers make every day.
