The Arc wraps up a festive season
Throughout December, The Arc has hosted a wide range of events for local residents to enjoy. From shared meals to creative workshops and family‑friendly celebrations, the month has been a wonderful reminder of what community is all about.
The Arcafe team, who have truly gone above and beyond this year. Over the last three weeks, they have served more than 150 Christmas lunches, provided 15 boxed Christmas dinners to people who needed a little extra support, and hosted a free Christmas lunch for 10 local residents.
Victoria Bradshaw, Arc Team Leader said: “I’m incredibly proud of what the team has achieved this December. Their dedication, warmth and genuine care for our community shines through in everything they do. Seeing so many happy faces enjoying the festive season has been a real highlight.”
On 23 December, families joined them for Breakfast with Santa, where more than 10 excited children enjoyed a festive morning of food, gifts and a magical visit from Santa himself.
Earlier in the month, on 28 November, The Arc hosted its annual Christmas Light Switch‑On and Craft Fair, attracting over 100 local people. The event featured a visit from Ongo Bear and Mrs Claus, and showcased 13 craft stalls offering everything from handmade wooden Christmas trees to jewellery and knitted blankets.
They also held a series of Christmas craft afternoons on 15, 17 and 19 December, giving residents the chance to get creative, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed festive atmosphere.
To round off the season, their much‑loved Knit and Sip group enjoyed their annual Christmas meal, this year choosing a festive afternoon tea. There were plenty of smiles, full bellies and a lovely sense of togetherness.
The Arc would also like to say thank you to everyone who has supported them throughout the festive period, including Tesco, Asda, Jewsons, Graytons and the incredible volunteers whose generosity and hard work helped make these events possible.
All of these events reflect The Arc’s ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming, supportive space where the community can come together and celebrate.
