We have raised over £1000 for Lindsey Lodge

A team of 25 colleagues helped to light up the streets of Scunthorpe as part of Lindsey Lodge’s annual Glow Walk event on Friday 12 September, raising over £1000 of vital funds.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare provides care for adults with life limiting illnesses for both day and inpatients. It is an organisation close to the hearts of many local people and one we have supported heavily throughout the years.
The event included pre-event music and warm-up, fun outfits and accessories encouraged and Marshall points throughout. For the last mile, walkers also had the option of finishing the race with a memory lantern to remember their loved ones.
In total more than 850 people took part in the 5 or 10-mile route, making it the biggest turn out yet and one of their key fundraisers of the year.
Rebecca Emmerson, People & Culture Assistant, said “I absolutely love being part of the Glow Walk – the atmosphere is always incredible, and it really brings people together for such a meaningful cause. It was fantastic to see even more Ongo colleagues taking part this year. The support from the community and the walkers is truly humbling. So many people have a personal connection to Lindsey Lodge, and it feels good to contribute, even in a small way.”
Molly Oczeretnyj, Finance Systems Specialist said, “I chose to take part in the Lindsey Lodge Glow Walk, as although I don’t have a personal link with the Hospice, the work they do is so incredibly important and vital in the community we work and live.
“Supporting many families through tough times and providing care, comfort and dignity at the end of many individuals lives, as they have done for over 30 years. As most are aware it’s not the first time I’ve fundraised for Lindsey Lodge, but I’m happy to walk 10miles or be drenched in cold water if it means I can help support this great cause.”
Plans for the 2026 Glow Walk have already been announced, with discounted options available and exciting new additions announced, including an ‘Afterglow’ party. Find out more about that or sign up here.
