We ‘Wear It Pink’ for Breast Cancer Now
On Thursday 23 October, our colleagues came together to support Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day, raising an incredible £370.
As one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK, thousands of people take part each year to show support for people affected by breast cancer and raise funds for life-saving research and support.
Each year over 55,000 people are diagnosed in the UK and around 11,500 women and 90 men die from breast cancer. The charity are on a mission to make sure that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives and is supported to live well.
Held across our offices and community hubs, events featured a cake sale, a pink themed tombola and fun competitions, all to raise money and awareness for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity.
Wendy Wolfe, Customer Engagement Manager here at Ongo, shared her gratitude: “I’d like to say a huge thank you for the generosity of everyone involved. After just a few hours we’d raised over £300 which is fantastic.
“It’s something very close to my heart after going through breast cancer myself, along with other colleagues from Ongo, and it really is life changing, not only for the individual affected but also their families and friends.
“It’s so important to continue supporting these kinds of events, and we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s involvement, so thanks again to everyone who took part.”
