We're officially a top 100 company for diversity
The National Centre for Diversity has announced us as 33rd in their list of ‘Top 100 Most Inclusive Workplaces’, for our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
Hundreds of organisations sign up to the National Centre for Diversity, from sectors including housing associations, schools, colleges and construction companies. So to be in the top 100 is a huge achievement.
We were recognised at the awards for the work our EDI group does. It is made up of colleagues, tenants and partners and they aim to raise awareness, push forward activities, embed EDI across the organisation, challenge behaviours and provide recommendations.
Last month we also announced they were signing up to the Board Diversity Programme run by the Housing Diversity Network (HDN). This ensures people from underrepresented groups that aspire to be a Board member, receive training and mentoring to get there.
Karen Cowan, Head of Corporate Services and EDI lead here at Ongo, said: “We’re delighted to have again been recognised as a top 100 company by the National Centre for Diversity.
“We are passionate about making a difference and creating fair and equal opportunities for everyone we work with and support, so it’s fantastic to be acknowledged for that.
“I’m extremely proud of the work we do to drive improvements and create conversations that we feel, need to be had. This is extremely important to us, and is something we will continue with going forward.”
