Make a difference as a Board Trainee

About the role

At Ongo, we build, manage and look after homes for people. And then we go further, we give them the strong foundations they need to get on with life.

We have joined up with the Housing Diversity Network (HDN) to deliver a two-year learning, development, and mentoring programme, to support and nurture a more diverse cohort of future Board Members in the housing sector.

The programme supports our work to ensure our Board membership is reflective of the diversity of our community, and we believe that to be successful we need to work with a talented and diverse range of people.

We are keen to provide Board experience for those individuals who may find there are barriers in the way of access to such opportunities.

You do not need to have any previous specific experience in social housing but you do need to be passionate about what we do and the positive impact we want to make on people’s lives and communities.

We will support you through the programme, offering opportunities to observe our Board and Committee meetings and providing a structured induction and development opportunities, as well as paying you an allowance for participation plus reasonable expenses.
